Who we are
Daily Tayyari (dailytayyari.com) is run by an individual developer based in India. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that developer. For any privacy question or request, write to support@dailytayyari.com or use Send feedback in the app (in the account menu or Settings).
What we collect
When you sign in
Sign-in uses Firebase Authentication, a service of Google LLC. When you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares your name, email address, profile photo and a user ID with the app. Firebase keeps an account record with these details. The app shows your name and photo in the account menu. Our own server uses only the user ID to find your plan. It does not store your name or email with your plan.
Your study data
To build and save your plan, we store:
- the exam you chose and your exam dates;
- your daily study hours, rest days and other settings;
- your daily plan, tasks and the study minutes you log;
- chapter-wise progress, your revision schedule and revision ratings;
- mock test names, dates and scores;
- your language and theme.
This is kept under your user ID with the time of the last save. We also keep a short progress summary: the share of the syllabus you have covered, the coverage expected by today, your streak, hours studied in the last 7 days and minutes studied today. The summary is used for study groups.
Study groups
Groups let you compare progress with friends. There is no chat. When you create or join a group, we store the group name and exam, the display name you choose for that group, and whether you turned on “Show my numbers to the group”.
- Every member sees your display name and whether you studied today.
- Your syllabus %, streak and hours this week are shown to other members only if you turn on sharing.
- Your numbers always count toward the group averages and other group-wide figures, even with sharing off.
- The group owner can rename the group and remove members. If the owner leaves, another member becomes the owner.
- Anyone with the invite link or code can see the group name, exam and number of members before joining.
Feedback
When you send feedback, we store your message, its category, an optional star rating, the screen you were on, your exam, the app language, your user ID and the time. We store your email address only if you tick “You can reply to me by email”. A copy of the feedback is emailed to the developer through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES). To stop spam, we also count how many messages you send each day; that count is deleted after 3 days.
Usefulness survey
After you have used the app for at least a week, the Today screen asks once how useful Daily Tayyari is for your preparation (1 to 5), with an optional box for what is missing. You can dismiss it, and it does not appear again. Your answer is stored like feedback, in the category “survey”.
Usage record and how you found us
To learn whether Daily Tayyari is really useful, and which ads or websites bring students who keep using it, our server keeps one usage record per account. It is filed under a scrambled (hashed) form of your user ID and holds no name, email or plan contents. It contains: the day you first signed in and the days you used the app; your exam and whether you built a plan; counts of tasks finished, study sessions logged, revisions rated and mock tests logged; tasks finished and minutes studied on each of the last 35 days; your latest progress summary; the codes of your study groups; and your survey score, if you answer the survey.
It also records how you first reached the site: the campaign tags in the link you arrived from (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content), whether that link came from a Google or Meta ad, the domain of the website that sent you (for example google.com, never the full address) and the page you first opened. Your browser saves this on your first visit and sends it with your first save.
Aggregate statistics
Once a day, a scheduled job turns the usage records into totals and averages: for example new sign-ups, daily and weekly active students, how many come back after 1, 7 and 30 days, tasks finished per day, survey scores, and the advertising cost per sign-up, split by exam and by source. These totals do not identify anyone. They are kept in our database and emailed to the developer as a weekly report.
Analytics
The app uses Google Analytics 4 through Firebase to understand which features are used. It records events such as signing up or logging in, building a plan, finishing a task, logging study time, rating a revision, logging a mock test, moving or swapping a task, clearing a backlog, changing the language, taking the app tour, sending feedback, answering or dismissing the usefulness survey, and creating, joining or leaving a group. Some events carry a small detail, such as minutes studied, a rating, a count, the task type, the exam or the language. We do not put your name, email or plan contents in these events.
The exam pages on this site (under /exams/) also use Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics sets cookies and similar identifiers and collects information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (from your IP address). Google processes this under its own terms.
Technical data
Like any website, our servers and Google’s receive your IP address and browser details when your browser loads a page, a font or the Firebase code. Our server error logs record what went wrong, not your plan or your sign-in token, and are deleted after 14 days.
On your device
So the app opens quickly, your browser’s local storage keeps a copy of your plan, your language and theme, the sync status, the time you were last active and how you first reached the site (described above). Firebase keeps you signed in using browser storage. Signing out or deleting your data removes the plan copy from that browser.
How we use it
- To build your plan and save it, so it opens on any device.
- To run study groups.
- To read your feedback and reply when you ask us to.
- To see which features are used and to fix problems.
- To check whether the app is useful to students and which ads or sources bring students who keep using it.
- To keep the service safe, for example with limits on requests and feedback.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles. We do not send your usage record to Google, Meta or any ad platform; we compare only totals with what we spend on ads.
Where it is stored and who helps us
- Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mumbai region (ap-south-1): your study data, progress summary, usage record, groups, feedback and aggregate statistics (Amazon DynamoDB), our server code and the daily statistics job (AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway and Amazon EventBridge), feedback emails and the weekly report (Amazon SES) and the website files (Amazon S3, delivered through Amazon CloudFront).
- Google LLC: sign-in (Firebase Authentication), analytics (Google Analytics 4) and fonts (Google Fonts). Google may process this data outside India.
Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. DynamoDB encrypts the data it stores. The database has point-in-time recovery turned on, so backups exist for up to 35 days.
How long we keep it
- Plan, settings, progress summary and usage record: until you delete them.
- Aggregate statistics: as long as they help us. They do not identify anyone.
- Group membership: until you leave, the owner removes you, or you delete your data.
- Feedback: as long as it helps us improve the app. You can ask us to delete it.
- Your Firebase sign-in record (name, email, photo, user ID): until you ask us to delete it.
- Server error logs: 14 days.
- Database backups: up to 35 days.
- Analytics data: as set in Google Analytics’ data retention settings.
Deleting your data and your other choices
- Delete my data: open the account menu (your photo at the top right) and choose “Delete my data”. This immediately deletes your saved plan, progress summary, usage record and group memberships from our database, signs you out and clears the plan copy in that browser. Copies in backups age out within 35 days.
- To also remove your Firebase sign-in record or your past feedback and survey answers, email support@dailytayyari.com from the same Google account. We aim to do this within 30 days.
- You can see and change your plan, settings and group display names in the app at any time.
- You can ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by writing to us.
- You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or use Google’s opt-out add-on.
- You can stop using Daily Tayyari at any time.
Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, may give you further rights. Write to us and we will help.
Sign-in sessions and security
For your safety, the app signs you out after 14 days without use, or 30 days after you signed in, whichever comes first. Our server checks your sign-in token on every request, and your data is stored under a random user ID. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Daily Tayyari is meant for people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, please use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete a child’s data by writing to support@dailytayyari.com.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For important changes, we will also show a notice in the app before they apply.
