Chapter-wise weightage and study hours
Weightage is the chapter's share of past-paper questions, normalised within its subject; hours are a first pass without revision.
No reliable weightage exists for this exam's topics yet, so weights follow the official syllabus structure. Treat them as a planning aid.
Single 200-question paper (Advt. 05/2026-27 syllabus, 16 Apr 2026). Section headings are official; GPSC publishes no section-wise marks and no credible past-paper count was found, so section shares and the split inside them are our estimates (*). Gujarat-specific content (dynasties, reform movements, culture, tribes, literature, pilgrim places, economy) is listed explicitly.
New pattern published 31 Jul 2026 for Advt. 05/2026-27: no optional subject (GPSC Mains has no optionals); Gujarati and English are qualifying (25%), merit = Essay + GS I-IV. Language-paper chapter marks are official (no '*'); GS chapters = official headings with equal weights scaled to 250 (*).
* Estimated weight: no reliable past-paper figure exists for this chapter, so the number is our estimate from the paper structure.

Frequently asked questions
Which chapters carry the most weight in GPSC?
Going by our compiled weightage, the heaviest chapters are Case Studies (Part A: 8 x 25 marks), Gujarat (Regional) Current Events, National Current Events, International Current Events, General Geography: Earth, Landforms, Atmosphere, Climate, Oceans. They are worth starting early, but past papers vary from year to year, so plan to cover the whole syllabus.
Is this GPSC weightage official?
No. Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) publishes the syllabus, not chapter weightage. These numbers come from analyses of previous years' papers, so treat them as a guide to priority, not a promise of what will be asked.
How many hours does the GPSC syllabus take?
Our first-pass estimate adds up to about 1030 hours of study, before revision and mock tests. At 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, that is roughly 6.6 months. Daily Tayyari replaces these defaults with your actual pace after the first week or two.
Is Daily Tayyari free, and does it work in Hindi?
Yes. It is free with no ads and no payment; you sign in with Google only so your plan is saved. You can switch between Hindi and English at any time, and chapter names are shown in both.
