Chapter-wise weightage and study hours
Weightage is the chapter's share of past-paper questions, normalised within its subject; hours are a first pass without revision.
No reliable weightage exists for this exam's topics yet, so weights follow the official syllabus structure. Treat them as a planning aid.
TGPSC lists 13 topics but publishes no question split and we found no credible past-paper analysis, so the 150 questions are split equally across topics (*). Latest official scheme: TGPSC 'Group-I Scheme and Syllabus' (2022, used for Notification 02/2024). No 2026 Group-I notification yet (TGPSC was collecting vacancies as of mid-2026).
Paper marks and essay section marks are OFFICIAL (TGPSC Group-I Scheme and Syllabus). Each GS paper has 3 sections of 5 items; we split each paper's 150 marks equally across the 15 items (*). No interview: Telangana dropped Group-I interviews in 2022, so selection is on the 900 written marks. No optional subjects.
* Estimated weight: no reliable past-paper figure exists for this chapter, so the number is our estimate from the paper structure.

Frequently asked questions
Which chapters carry the most weight in TGPSC Group 1?
Going by our compiled weightage, the heaviest chapters are Current affairs: regional, national and international, International relations and events, General science; India's achievements in S&T, Environmental issues; disaster management, Economic and social development of India. They are worth starting early, but past papers vary from year to year, so plan to cover the whole syllabus.
Is this TGPSC Group 1 weightage official?
No. Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC, formerly TSPSC) publishes the syllabus, not chapter weightage. These numbers come from analyses of previous years' papers, so treat them as a guide to priority, not a promise of what will be asked.
How many hours does the TGPSC Group 1 syllabus take?
Our first-pass estimate adds up to about 910 hours of study, before revision and mock tests. At 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, that is roughly 5.8 months. Daily Tayyari replaces these defaults with your actual pace after the first week or two.
Is Daily Tayyari free, and does it work in Hindi?
Yes. It is free with no ads and no payment; you sign in with Google only so your plan is saved. You can switch between Hindi and English at any time, and chapter names are shown in both.
